Law experts welcome report showing community trust the key in choosing solicitors
A survey showing the importance of tradition and word of mouth in choosing solicitors has been welcomed by Coalville’s best-known law firm
QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank said research by the Solicitors Regulation Authority proved that the public seek reassurance when needing legal services.
“With the law you have to get it right and, whilst some of the public are enticed by what seems quick online options, it is heartening to know that the responsible majority realise that highly qualified local experts who serve the community is still the best course,” said Jim Abbott, a partner at QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank.
The research showed that away from big cities where community ties were stronger the importance of referrals from family and friends was even more vital.
“Having been part of the community since 1923 we are delighted to see that tradition carries so much weight in places like Coalville where there is still such a strong sense of identity and community,” he added.
“It is for this reason we will continue to do our utmost to use the local media and other methods to keep the community in Coalville informed and educated as to how changes in the law affect the public,” he added.
The report also showed that some of the public felt there was a sense of stepping into the unknown when engaging a solicitor. However, Mr Abbott said QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank put minds at ease by keeping a visible face in the local press and community advising on matters affecting the public.
“We run legal sessions about important topics on Hermitage FM, on the third Thursday of the month at 2.30pm,” he added. “Also as the law is continually changing we outline these changes in a way that is simple to understand for the public,” he added.
