Andy Smith

Paralegal

I am currently employed as a part-time paralegal working for Mander Cruickshank Solicitors.

I have been employed in that role since 4th May 2010, following early retirement.  Being a paralegal, means I am a legal assistant to the solicitors within the firm and in my case, I concentrate on family / children matters in the care team.

The solicitor who I assist will be representing those children through their Children’s Guardian, an officer of The Children & Family Court Advisory Support Service (CAFCASS).

Prior to 2010, I had spent 36 ½ years working for Her Majesty’s Court Service, a majority of which was as a Legal Adviser. I held the Diploma in Magisterial Law gained through Bristol Polytechnic College in July 1981.

I am a very keen rugby fan and support Leicester Tigers, having been a season ticket holder for over 30 years.  I am also very involved in fishing, organising competitions on the local canal and am Chairman of Measham & Secretary of Shackerstone Angling Clubs.  I enjoy cricket having played at League level for 25 seasons.  I am a Governor at Heather Primary School.
