Trainee Solicitor
Mander Cruickshank are looking to recruit a full-time Trainee Solicitor to join our Conveyancing team based at our Coalville office. This role differs from our usual recruitment of Trainee Solicitors in that this is for someone who intends to practice in conveyancing and is not suitable for candidates who wish to practice in other areas of law.
The successful candidate will have a good academic record, with qualifying degree, either LLB (Hons) or other degree with the appropriate conversion course. Completion of the LPC is not mandatory as we will consider applicants who wish to study the LPC part time whilst gaining qualifying work experience or those who wish to consider the SQE qualification route.
The candidate needs to demonstrate a professional, friendly and empathetic attitude with strong communication and organisational/time-management skills.
The role requires someone who is able to work independently using their own initiative but who is also able to follow clear instruction to undertake work as part of a team.
Working with experienced lawyers the successful candidate will gain valuable knowledge in this area of the law and will benefit from excellent prospects for career progression in a close knit team.

Junior Legal Cashier
Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
Salary: £18,000 to £20,000
Hours: 9am – 5pm
We are a medium sized local law firm which deals predominately in Family, Wills & Probate, Conveyancing, Care and Crime.
We are looking to recruit a Junior Legal Cashier to assist the Finance Manager and Legal Cashiers with the day to day running of the accounts department. This is the perfect opportunity for someone to have their first role within accounts and finance, or for someone wishing to take their finance role in a new direction. We would prefer applicants with an AAT qualification, or wishing to work with us to acquire an AAT qualification. This role is not suitable for those wishing to pursue a career as a lawyer.
Responsibilities (to assist with but not exclusive)
Undertaking daily banking functions
Complying with the Solicitor Accounts Rules
Processing of client and office accounting transactions
Preparation of cheques and processing of bank transfers
Preparation and posting of weekly client to office transfers
Processing and recharging of disbursements to matters i.e., HM Land Registry and HMRC Court fees
Ensuring any queries are dealt with promptly and escalated accordingly
Processing bank reconciliations
Legal Aid billing and reconciliation
Purchase ledger
File closures
General filing
Candidate Profile
A high level of numeracy is required. A strong team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Solicitors Accounting Rules is desirable but not essential. IT literate, including Word and Excel.

Care/Family Team Paralegal
Mander Cruickshank are looking for a full-time Paralegal to join our Care/Family team based at our Coalville office, but with some time spent at our Hinckley office
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in or knowledge of the processes of both private law and public law children work

Conveyancing Legal Secretary
We are recruiting an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Conveyancing Department, working in our Coalville office on a full time basis. The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
- To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual.
- To record all client and matter details on the case management system and set up new files, and ensure that the client/matter details are kept up to date.
- To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for the Fee Earner.
- To attend to clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience of working as a Legal Secretary in a Conveyancing department is essential
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience of using a case management system
- Exceptional customer service skills
