Susan Pendleton

Non-Equity Partner, Head of Residential Property and Senior Solicitor

I qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 after earning a law degree with honours followed by a postgraduate diploma in law. My legal career began with a year as a paralegal, followed by two years completing my training contract. Over the past 20 years, I have gained extensive experience in property and residential property, having worked at medium and large Solicitors’ firms.

I started my career at a medium-sized firm in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, where over 11 years I progressed to partner level, managing a team that ranged between seven and nineteen people. After this, I became a Senior Associate at a Legal 200 firm in Nottingham, representing high net worth clients as well as a large multinational company with a regular programme of employee relocations. I then headed the Residential Property Department at another local firm, supervising a department of ten people across four offices.

In July 2018, I joined Mander Cruickshank LLP, and by September of the same year I was appointed Head of the Residential Property Department. I currently lead a dedicated and hardworking team in our Coalville office.

My work encompasses a broad range of property matters including buying and selling freehold and leasehold properties, remortgaging and further advances, equity release, transfers of equity, property transfers in divorce settlements, gifting property, probate sales and transfers, assents, auction packs, auction sales and purchases, pre-auction advice, voluntary registrations, and adverse possession applications.

I am committed to providing a personal and approachable service, recognising that moving house can be a stressful experience. Communication is key to reducing that stress, so I make myself readily available to clients whether by email, telephone, or face-to-face appointment. I pride myself on understanding each client’s individual needs and working closely with them to achieve their desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.
