QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank is the leading sponsor for the event which takes place on Sunday November 15, of which all proceeds go to Living Without Abuse, a charity which has supported vulnerable woman for 40 years.

Kathryn Hicklin, an expert in family law at the firm, which has offices in Coalville and Hinckley, said she hoped the Leicestershire public would turn out in even greater force than last year, which saw around 400 runners raise almost £6,000.

“Last year was terrific, but we want 2015 to be even better so are making an early call for the public to get into training, so they can run at one of the region’s iconic tracks,” she said.

She praised the work of Living Without Abuse and said they have helped many lives.

“Unfortunately abuse can be physical, verbal and comes in many other guises too and this wonderful charity has intervened to help so many people over many many years,” said Ms Hicklin.

“We wish to continue to highlight the terrific work that continues to be done by LWA in helping people in incredibly difficult circumstances.”

Just as in 2014 there will be a half marathon, and also a One Lap Fun run and a Team Relay Baton Challenge.

Last year the charity helped almost 1000 people across the region.

“The generosity of the public has enabled LWA to help so many people over the years and we are so grateful for the support that we receive,” said Gina King, head of fund raising for the charity,.

“The Donington Half marathon was a fantastic success last year and we are aiming to build on that and make it bigger and better this year, hopefully raising lots of money for our charity at the same time.
