Property stress lessened by using good law firm – new study shows
One of the region’s leading law firms has welcomed a survey demonstrating that good conveyancing helps reduce stress when buying or selling property.
QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank reacted from the report by Which? Mortgage Advisers, which said buying or selling a home is more stressful than having a child, changing jobs or getting married.
Nearly 2,000 people took part in the survey who had either bought or sold a house in the previous five years with some 70% of people who had sold a house had found it stressful, while 69% of people who had bought a house felt this way.
Shani Box, Head of Conveyancing at QualitySolicitors Mander Cruickshank said she welcomed the findings.
“One of the conclusions of the survey is that those involved should know the process and invest in a good quality conveyancer or property solicitor,” she said. “It also advised to make sure you stay in the loop by building good relationships with the professionals involved in the process to ease worries.”
Ms Box said sometimes many people underestimate the difficulties involved in property moves.
“The complexities can be very frustrating and especially so for people who are not used to the buying and selling of property,” added Ms Box, who firm was highly commended as one of the Conveyancing Firms of the Year in the 2015 Law Firm Services Awards.
“We realise just how difficult moving home and dealing with property can be, so it is always best to work with someone local who you can speak to, meet up with and knows the property market,” she added.
